I'd like to think my opinion is as good as any judge's view. The UPC brings out that competitive streak. Plus by betting (slightly) less it has made me a smarter punter- Blackbooking selections (that I haven't backed) that win or run well has lead to many future winners. Oh and I've run 2nd twice, keeps me keen 😜🤣

UPC showdown is great, unlike other multis you arent out if your horse loses, you are kept in the competition and even get points for when a horse runs a place! looking forward to winning the showdown one day!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a showdown

Showdowns are thrilling racing events that combine strategy, skill, and a dash of luck. Participants enter by paying a fee and selecting runners for multiple races, called legs.

The goal? Accumulate the most points based on your chosen runners’ performance.

Here’s how it works:

  • Entry: Pay the fee and make your selections for each leg.
  • Scoring: Points are awarded based on official win and place dividends of your chosen runners.
  • Leaderboard: Rankings update after each leg, keeping the competition intense.
  • Re-entry option: Underperforming early? You can re-enter for an additional fee.
  • Prizes: The total prize pool, funded by entry fees, is distributed among top performers.

What makes Showdowns exciting:

  • Multiple winners: Not just one champion – several participants can win prizes.
  • Strategic depth: Success requires careful runner selection and understanding of racing odds.
  • Dynamic competition: Real-time leaderboard updates keep everyone engaged.

Showdowns offer a unique blend of betting excitement and competitive spirit. Whether you’re a racing expert or a casual fan, these events provide an entertaining way to test your skills and potentially win big.

Showdowns offer three categories of prizes, providing multiple opportunities to win:

  1. Main Showdown Payouts

    • These are awarded for performance across the entire Showdown (all races).
    • The number of payouts and their values are outlined in the Prize Table.
    • Payouts are estimated until the Showdown is completed.
  2. Front Half Payouts

    • Awarded for performance in the Front Half (first half) of the races.
    • The Front Half typically consists of the first 6 races in a 12-race Showdown.
    • Payouts are made if at least two-thirds (2/3) of Eligible Races in the Front Half are completed.
  3. Back Half Payouts

    • Awarded for performance in the Back Half (second half) of the races.
    • The Back Half typically consists of the last 6 races in a 12-race Showdown.
    • Payouts are made if at least two-thirds (2/3) of Eligible Races in the Back Half are completed.

The Prize Table, accessible via a button on the home screen after logging in, provides detailed information on the potential payouts for each category. This includes the estimated payouts for 100% or 1.0 Entry (Flexi entries receive a proportional share of the payout).

It’s important to note that all payouts are estimated and subject to change until the respective portion of the Showdown (Front Half, Back Half, or entire Showdown) is completed. The final payouts depend on factors such as the number of entries and the completion of eligible races.

This multi-tiered payout structure adds depth to the Showdown, rewarding both overall performance and strong showings in different sections of the competition.
